For this couture collection, Jantine’s was strongly influenced by the textile sculptures from the 1970’s and specifically the macramé-technique. That was the starting point to construct pieces of clothing out of cord and yarn, straight from the body and using only one type of knot.

‘In 1898, Bell experimented with tetrahedral box kites and wings constructed of multiple compound tetrahedral kites covered in silk. The tetrahedral wings were named Cygnet I, II and III, and were flown both unmanned and manned’ - Wikipedia
A beautiful photograph I found in a January, 1930 National Geographic Magazine, taken by Clifton Adams. The caption reads:
“AN UNDERWATER FAIRYLAND IS SEEN AT SILVER SPRINGS
So clear is the water that submarine flora, growing amid fantastic formations of rock and shell, with fish darting about, is plainly visible even where the spring is 80 feet deep. This girl swimmer, feeding the tame fish, is many feet below the surface. In the background is the dim hulk of a sunken boat.”

Kenzo 1985
I always loved my Kenzo “Amour” perfume… too bad the bottle broke my bathroom sink.
